![]() Honest the best bang for your buck I will list below. You can change out the fuel restrictors in the metering blocks but don't recommend you don't mess with these things unless your fully educated on how a holley style carb works on each of its circuit etc. ![]() The demon series of carbs have a very rich idle fuel curve compared to the ones listed above and any of the ones above would give you better fuel mileage unless you know how to tune your fuel curve on your demon as it can be set up to run just as well. I had my engine sold as it had seen better days but for that short time it ran good and would do with any of these carbs listed above. I had a bone stock 350 vortec in my 96 s10 when I got it back in 2007 and it had a edelbrock vortec intake on it along with a edelbrock 600 cfm carb and it ran pretty well with that combo and still could shred the tires if I wanted to with a 700r4. Third is the Edelbrock afb 600cfm carb with either the electric choke or manual choke depending on what you want and also the edelbrock avs 650cfm carburetor. Your two best choices are either a stock holley 600cfm vacuum secondary carb model 1850 (manual choke) 80457 (electric choke) if they end in the s then they are the zinc heavy castings and if they end in sa then they are the aluminum lighter castings. Then if you want either of these carbs then I would get a square bore intake. The quadratjet is the best for fuel economy wise but you will need a spread bore intake manifold in order to use it. Further underscoring our commitment to the racing community, Edelbrock is the only aftermarket intake manifold manufacturer licensed by NASCAR.If your vortec is all stock then I would either use one of three carbs and this will indicate on what intake manifold you use. Working with these talented individuals is just another extension of our research and development process so when we say "proven performance" we really mean it! Top racing teams in all forms of motorsports rely on Edelbrock to produce parts that they can count on to win races and championships. Our products are also tested and used by professional race car teams and drivers. Edelbrock test vehicles are driven by Edelbrock engineers and employees to get a "real world" feeling for the performance improvements. These precise testing procedures are applied to the entire Edelbrock line for performance that's guaranteed. When all testing is completed, the results evaluated, and the part has passed all performance criteria, then, and only then, is the product deemed ready for production. For real-world tuning, there's our Super Flow model SF-840 eddy-current chassis dyno that can handle up to 1,000 hp at the wheels and speeds of 200 mph. It's fully automated and programmable to simulate various driving situations, and is equipped with WinDyn software for the very latest in testing equipment. For 2007, we added a new Super Flow SF902 engine dyno. Our three Super Flow computerized engine dynos are capable of measuring 11 separate engine variables up to speeds of 12,000 rpm. That's why every product we design and sell at Edelbrock is tested and approved by Edelbrock engineers in a real world environment on state-of-the-art equipment. Why? Without adequate testing, there's no way to stand behind your product with confidence. When you design and sell the best-engineered performance products in the world, you have to have a rigorous testing program. Manifold has provisions for external water bypass and may be used on either Vortec blocks or 1995 and earlier blocks.
